Two poppy vases by Schneider
Large poppy vase by Charles Schneider (France 1920)CHARLES SCHNEIDER (1881-1953)
Description / ExpertiseOne of the largest vases in this category. The production of this vase required enormous skills like the marqueterie de verre made by Emile Galle. First there is an intercalair drawing of the green meadow with the grass and the sunny orange sky above. Second skill: to apply the glass for the flowers and the leaves, and the third: to cut the shape of the flowers by wheel engraving by hand. Not many of these vases survive in perfect condition. This one has survived, beautiful and perfect.
