Gallery Tiny Esveld was established in 1995 by Tiny Esveld. Since that time the business has grown to become a leading specialist in French art nouveau and art deco glass.
The gallery is specialized in “Ecole de Nancy” objects. Glass by Emile Gallé, Daum-Nancy and Charles Schneider. Also furniture by Emile Gallé and Louis Majorelle. And ceramics by Gallé.
Mrs.Esveld only buys what she likes. She must fall in love with the object. The criteria are hard to describe, because they differ for each object, but for example it can be colour, height, rareness, etc. Quality and beauty, those are the key words.
In 2000 the gallery in Rijkevorsel was opened. In 2010 Tiny Esveld wrote a practical guide for collectors of French art nouveau and art deco glass: Glass made transparent. This book helped buyers worldwide to determine the quality of their vase. In 2012 the gallery has moved to the center of Brasschaat near Antwerp. The new gallery is a modern building, designed by the Belgium architect Toon Saldien, with large windows so that the light floods in, so that the objects can be admired with natural daylight. Every first weekend of the month the gallery is open from 11.00-18.00 hours. The latest treasures are shown on these days for the first time. By appointment is also possible. During july and august the gallery is closed.
In november 2013 her new book will be presented at PAN-Amsterdam, a book about Emile Gallé and his family: Art signed Gallé.
On the website you only see a small part of the collection. You are welcome to ask for more information.
