His wood workshop had over ten years of experience and was fully grown. His workmen used motor driven tools to make basic shapes, the finishing touch was done by hand. The woodcarving of this cabinet is a sculpture done by an artist. So is the marqueterie of the daffodil flower. More than 25 different sorts of woodfineer are used to make the marqueterie. The butterflies on the drawer are like small “paintings”. The cabinet has a light touch, spring is in the air, after a long cold winter nature starts to awaken. Galle made his furniture to be used.
